Prayer times
My prayer times are a few minutes off
Different authorities use different sun angles, so a few minutes of variation is normal. Open Settings → Calculation and pick the method your local masjid follows. If it is still slightly off, open that prayer in Settings and set an offset in minutes to match your masjid's iqamah. Where the app and your masjid differ, follow your masjid.
Asr looks an hour late or early
That is the madhab setting, not a bug. Hanafi calculates Asr when an object's shadow is twice its length; the other schools use once its length. Switch it under Settings → Asr (madhab).
Fajr or Isha look wrong in summer
If you live far north, the sun may never dip low enough for a standard calculation to work. Turn on a high-latitude rule in Settings — "Middle of the night" is the usual choice.
The app shows the wrong city
Check that location is switched on for your phone and allowed for Salatia in your phone's settings, then open the app again. It asks for a fresh location each time it starts. Without a connection the city name may show as "Current location" — the prayer times are still calculated for where you are.
Quiet windows and notifications
iPhone: why do I set up the Focus automation myself?
Apple does not allow any app to turn a Focus mode on by itself — there is no API for it, for any developer. The Shortcuts app is allowed to, so the Focus tab walks you through connecting the two once. It takes about two minutes, and after that it runs on its own.
Android: Do Not Disturb did not switch on
The app needs Do Not Disturb access. Turn on automatic quiet in the app and it opens the right system screen for you. Some manufacturers restrict this further; the app tells you when a quiet window could not be applied. Alarms still ring during a quiet window.
iPhone: I am not getting notifications
Check three things: notifications are allowed for Salatia in iOS Settings, the prayer is switched on in the app's Settings, and a Focus mode is not silencing the app. Prayer alerts are marked time-sensitive, so allowing Time Sensitive Notifications lets them through most Focus modes.
Android: I am not getting notifications, or they arrive late
Allow notifications for Salatia, and allow Alarms & reminders so alerts arrive on time. Some phones (for example Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei) stop apps in the background to save battery; set Salatia to Unrestricted under the app's battery settings.
Qibla
The Qibla compass is not moving or looks wrong
Hold the phone flat and away from anything magnetic, including a magnetic case or car mount, then move it in a figure-eight to recalibrate. On iPhone, also check that Compass Calibration is on under Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → System Services.
Quran
Does the Quran work offline?
The Quran tab needs an internet connection. Recitation you have played is kept on your phone for up to seven days, so replaying a surah does not download it again.
Where do the translations come from?
Quran data is provided by the Quran Foundation. The app shows translations and tafsir only from a reviewed list of sources, and names the source under the text.
Why did I get "Keep your adhan on" or "Adhan alerts paused"?
In the free version, adhan alerts are scheduled one week at a time. Opening Salatia renews them for another week and updates the prayer times for wherever you are now. If a week passes without the app being opened, the alerts pause, and a notification the day before gives you notice. Premium renews them for you.
How do I turn off the Ayah of the day?
Open Settings in the app and switch off Ayah of the day under Notifications. On Android you can also silence just that notification type in the system's app notification settings.
Premium and purchases
What does Premium include?
Premium removes all ads and renews your adhan alerts without the app being opened. Every feature is free for everyone. It is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
I bought Premium on a new phone. How do I get it back?
iPhone: open Premium and tap Restore, signed in with the same Apple ID. Android: purchases come back automatically when you are signed in with the same Google account.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the store: Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews.
How do I get a refund?
Payments are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds are requested from them: Apple Support or Google Play Support.
Privacy
Does the app track me?
Your settings and prayer times stay on your phone, and we keep no data about you on any server. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which uses your phone's advertising identifier; on iPhone it is used for personalised ads only if you allow it. The privacy policy explains everything in full.
How do I change my ad consent?
Where the law requires a consent choice (for example in the EEA and the UK), open the app's Settings and tap Ad privacy choices. On iPhone you can also change tracking permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Premium removes ads entirely.
Does the app work without internet?
Prayer times, the Qibla and quiet windows work with no connection at all, because they are calculated on your device. The city name, the Quran tab and the ads in the free version need the internet; without it, the app simply skips them and keeps working.
